On July 23rd, 2021, KTN Home will begin broadcasting live coverage of the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, thanks to a new broadcasting deal with sports marketing company Infront Ltd.

The deal also includes radio coverage of all Tokyo 2020 events through KTN's three radio stations in Kenya: Radio Maisha, Spice FM, and Vybes Radio.

The Standard Group, which owns KTN Home, KTN News, KTN Farmers, and BTV, has secured this deal to bring extensive Olympic Games coverage to Kenya.

Julien Ternisien, senior vice-president of summer sports for Infront, expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, "Infront is pleased to partner with The Standard Group to ensure extensive coverage of the Olympic Games in Kenya, a country which has produced so many memorable moments at past editions."

He added, "We are looking forward to securing other ground-breaking partnerships with African broadcasters to maximise the impact of the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 in sub-Saharan Africa."

Anne-Sophie Voumard, IOC vice-president for broadcast and media rights, also commented on the deal, saying, "We are pleased to be working with Infront to secure Olympic Games broadcast coverage across 46 African territories, including this new agreement in Kenya."

She further explained, "The IOC redistributes 90 per cent of the revenue we generate through our commercial agreements to support sport around the world, including in Africa."

Kenya has a rich history of Olympic success, with 13 medals won at the Rio 2016 Olympics, all in athletics. The country's athletes won six gold, six silver, and one bronze medal.
