On July 2, 2021, a shooting incident occurred at Quiver's Lounge club in Kasarani Sub-county, Nairobi County, leaving several people injured.
Dickinson Njanja Mararo, a businessman, has been accused of shooting two police officers, detective Festus Musyoka Kavuthi and Lawrence Muturi, as well as a waitress, Felistas Nzisa, at close range.
Mararo appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and denied the charges of attempted murder.
The prosecution opposed Mararo's release on bail, citing the need for the investigating officer to file an affidavit in support of the application to deny him bail.
However, the matter was transferred to another magistrate, and Mararo was remanded at Gigiri police station until next week.
