On July 15, 2021, Jubilee Majority Leader and Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya faced a tense situation at Kimuga Polling Station in Kiambaa constituency.
Kimunya was forced to leave the polling station after a group of rowdy youths accused him of interfering with the voting exercise.
The youths shouted at the MP, saying they did not know why he was at the centre, and chanted 'Kimunya must go'.
Kimunya tried to talk to the youths but was unsuccessful, and he was eventually escorted out of the centre by GSU officers.
The voting exercise in Kiambaa constituency, which has 96,000 registered voters and 154 polling stations, kicked off at 6:20 am and will continue throughout the day.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has warned politicians against interfering with the exercise.
