On the night of July 14, 2021, a devastating fire swept through the home of renowned political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

According to eyewitnesses, the family was present when the fire started, but fortunately, no one was injured. However, the fire engines were delayed, and nothing was saved from the inferno.

Kenya Power took samples of the material at the scene for analysis to determine whether the fire was caused by an electrical fault. The investigation is ongoing, but Ngunyi has pointed fingers at malicious political arson.

As the blame game unfolded on social media, with Mutahi and blogger Dennis Itumbi trading accusations, Ngunyi took to Twitter to confirm the reports. The fire reduced his 27-year-old home to a sooty shell, leaving behind a charred remains of what once was a grand mansion.
