On the morning of July 14, 2021, a devastating fire swept through the Runda home of renowned Kenyan political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
Ngunyi, who has owned the property for approximately three decades, took to Twitter to share the news, stating that the fire began at around 1:45 am.
Although the cause of the blaze remains unknown, Ngunyi expressed his concern over why Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi had tweeted about the fire just 16 minutes after it started.

Itumbi had initially tweeted to notify the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) about the fire, and later expressed his concern for Ngunyi's safety, stating, 'I can only pray that you suffer the least damage and be safe.'
The property, valued at tens of millions of shillings, is located in an upscale suburb of Nairobi.
