Published on July 14, 2021, Dr. Johansen Oduor, the chief government pathologist, testified in court that the injuries sustained by Tecra Muigai, the late Keroche heiress, were caused by both a blunt object and a possible fall.

During the inquest at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, Dr. Oduor stated that Tecra's body had a major injury on the head, a minor bruise on the left upper arm, and on the knees.

He further explained that the postmortem report indicated that there were two fractures, one on the left and one on the back of her head, which suggested that the injuries were unlikely to have been caused by a single impact.

Dr. Oduor's opinion was that the injuries were caused by both a blunt object and a possible fall, which led to severe brain injuries and complications arising from craniocerebral injuries.
