Former Atlanta Resident Passes Away in Kenya

Former Atlanta resident Thairu Machua passed away in Kenya on July 7, 2021, after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Machua wa Muchugia and the late Ruth Waithira wa Machua of Mutu-ini, Dagoretti, Nairobi.

Thairu is survived by his former wife, Alice G. K. Machua of Syracuse, New York, U.S.A., and their children, Joan Waithira, Waithira Machua-Thaira, Wanjiru Machua-Thaira, and Bura K. Muriithi.

He was also the brother of the late Virginia Wanjiru Kimachia, Grace Nyariri Maya, Eliud Mbugua wa Machua, Munene wa Machua, and Samuel Mbote wa Machua.

The cortege will depart the PCEA Kikuyu Mortuary at 10 AM on July 14, 2021, for a graveside funeral service and internment at the PCEA Kikuyu Cemetery, near the Alliance Girls High School.

As Vera Lynn once sang, 'We'll meet again; don't know where, don't know when. But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.'
