On July 13, 2021, a plane monitoring locust invasions crashed in Naivasha, leaving a trail of destruction.
Three people were on board the aircraft, including the pilot, when the incident occurred.
Tragically, one person died at the scene, while two others sustained severe burn wounds and were rushed to Ndabibi health center for treatment.
Deputy county commissioner Kisilu Mutua visited the crash site and attributed the possible cause to bad weather.
‘It is too early to establish the cause of the crash but, generally, we had bad weather for the better part of the day,’ said Mr. Mutua.
He added that they were waiting for the Civil Aviation Authority to commence investigations and issue a full report on the incident.
The crash site was located in an area with thick vegetation, making it challenging for responders to access the area.
