Published on July 12, 2021, the Henley Passport Index revealed that holders of Kenya's passport face significant travel restrictions in the wake of COVID-19.
According to the index, which has been monitoring the world's most travel-friendly passports since 2006, Kenya's passport holders are banned or restricted in 54 countries.
The countries that have imposed restrictions on Kenyan passport holders include Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Cambodia, the UK, Canada, Portugal, Denmark, Bulgaria, and Singapore.
Other countries that have placed restrictions on Kenya include Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Chile, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, and Cameroon, which is the only African country to have done so.
The highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant may spark a fourth wave of infections in Kenya over the next two months, according to the Health Ministry.
