On July 12, 2021, a plane crashed in Naivasha's Ndabibi area, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

The light aircraft was conducting locust surveillance when it crashed under unclear circumstances.

Nakuru Deputy County Commissioner Steve Mwonge confirmed the incident, stating that the plane was making bizarre sounds before crashing down.

Witnesses described the scene, with one person's body burnt beyond recognition.

Residents and witnesses attempted to salvage items from the wreckage and put out the remaining fire.

The incident occurred just days after a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) chopper crashed in Kajiado, killing soldiers on board.
