July 12, 2021 - Huawei AppGallery has taken a significant step in enhancing user experience by integrating Safaricom's M-Pesa as a payment option on its platform.
This move enables users to make purchases of their favorite apps, games, and other digital content using M-Pesa, eliminating the need for additional accounts or forms.
According to Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head, Jim Zhujie, the partnership aims to increase user experience and convenience. 'At Huawei, our users are at the heart of everything we do, and we are constantly looking at ways to increase their overall experience with our products,' he said.
Jim Zhujie added, 'I am excited about our Huawei and M-PESA partnership with Safaricom, as this new additional method of online payment is not only hassle-free but also so much more convenient.'
With this integration, users can now purchase additional in-game content, features, or subscriptions to services like Huawei Music, Huawei Mobile Cloud, and more, using M-Pesa.
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa expressed pride in partnering with Huawei to offer customers a seamless experience. 'We are proud to partner with Huawei to offer our customers the simplicity of purchasing from Huawei Mobile Services using M-PESA,' he said.
