Published on July 12, 2021, Nairobi — The murder case against Migori Governor Okoth Obado is set to unfold with the prosecution calling 35 witnesses.

Assistant Director of Public Prosecution Catherine Mwaniki informed trial Judge Cecilia Githua that her team will demonstrate the involvement of Obado and his co-accused Casper Obiero and Michael Oyamo in the murder of Sharon Otieno, which occurred in November 2018.

Dr Johansen Odour, who performed the postmortem on Sharon's body, testified that she had several stab wounds and that her death was caused by strangulation.

According to Dr Odour, Sharon was kidnapped on November 3, 2018, and her body was discovered the following day in a forest. Her body was unclothed, and her clothes were identified by her children.

Sharon was a 28-year-old mother of three, who was pursuing a diploma in a medical course at Rongo University.
