On July 9, 2021, a tragic event unfolded at Kings Distinction Apartment along Batian lane off Argwings Kodhek road in Kilimani, where an unknown man lost his life.

Four suspects, including a single mother of a 2-month-old baby, were recently arraigned in court in connection with the murder.

The suspects, Alias Umar Kabir Kamara, a Nigerian national, Vera Osebe Omari, Diana Moraa, and Annestine Mamuji Helmut, are accused of organizing and participating in a house party that turned fatal.

According to the investigating officer, Corporal Philip Bett, the deceased was seen partying at the same house on July 8, 2021, with the suspects and other revelers.

Police have applied for 10 days to detain the suspects, citing the need to apprehend other revellers who fled the scene, record statements from witnesses, and arrest other associates who are still at large.

The court granted the application, with Magistrate Jane Kamau reducing the detention period from 14 to 10 days.
