Published on July 12, 2021, police are still on the hunt for a suspect officer who has been missing for over two weeks.
According to sources, the officer, Caroline Kangogo, left behind all her known telephone lines, complicating the search efforts.
Speaking to the press, Nakuru East subcounty deputy police commander Phanton Analo confirmed that police are following leads to apprehend Kangogo, who has been listed as 'absent without official leave.'
He added that if she fails to report back within 11 days, she will be deemed to have deserted duty, and a warrant for her arrest will be issued.
Investigations have revealed that Kangogo withdrew Sh40,000 from a bank in Juja, Kiambu county, which is believed to be funding her movements while on the run.
Detectives are pursuing revenge as a possible motive for the killing of two of her suspected lovers, police constable John Ogweno and Juja businessman Peter Ndwiga.
It is alleged that Kangogo sent threatening messages to four men, suspected to be her former or current lovers, on the night Ndwiga was shot dead in a hotel room.
Her parents remain optimistic that she will hand herself in to authorities, but the fugitive officer's father, Barnaba Kipkoech Korir, has appealed to her to surrender to the authorities and avoid harming more people.
