Published on July 12, 2021, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has admitted to being unable to independently locate Caroline Kangogo, a police officer accused of killing two men.
As a result, the DCI has formed a multi-agency team that includes the military to aid in the search. The team plans to conduct a physical search along major roads in Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, and Mombasa.
"We have expanded our hunt to major highways, hotels, lodges, and other places where we feel she could be hiding. Soon we shall arrest her," said a detective investigating the matter.
The team will also conduct searches in bars, restaurants, and lodgings, indicating the desperation and lack of clues in the case.
"It has been challenging tracking down the officer because she no longer uses her phone. However, our team has stepped up the hunt," said Nakuru County Criminal Investigations Officer Anthony Sunguti.
The authorities have called on Ms. Kangogo to surrender herself, but she remains at large. She has been accused of killing two men by shooting them in the head, and has been linked to a text message threatening her estranged husband, also a police officer.
