Police Officer in Kisii Arrested for Stealing from Colleagues

On July 10, 2021, a police officer attached to Nyamache police station in Kisii County was arrested for allegedly breaking into his colleagues' houses and stealing valuable items.

According to a police statement, Robert Rono was arrested following an outcry from fellow police officers of housebreaking and stealing of household items in their houses in the police line.

After his arrest, his house was searched and several stolen items were recovered, including an itel phone, cannabis, keys, a TV aerial jack pin, a Kenya police patch, ATM cards, a Nakumatt master card, and a Kenyan national identity card.

The suspect is being held at Nyangusu police station and is due to appear in court on Monday, July 12, 2021.
