This archive report was first published on 10 July 2021.

On July 9, 2021, John Ogweno's wife, Juliet, revealed that Caroline Kangogo, the fugitive Nakuru policewoman on the run after killing two men, had been in constant communication with her since June 2021.

According to Juliet, Kangogo would call her frequently, inquiring about her family and even requesting to have her children taken to Nakuru for a hangout.

Juliet recalled one of the conversations with Kangogo, saying, 'Anytime she called me…it could be; how are the kids? How are you people fairing on? I want one day John to come and pick the kids and let them come to Nakuru for some hangouts…things like that.'

Juliet said she wasn't interested in giving her children to Kangogo but accepted her requests to avoid engaging more with her.

John Ogweno's father, Edward Ouru Imbai, said his son had plans to visit them at their home in Sengre village, Homa Bay, before his murder.

Imbai described his son as a peaceful person who avoided controversies and didn't understand why he was killed when his career had just begun.

On July 1, 2021, Kangogo called Juliet confirming that John had arrived in Kericho, and on July 3, 2021, she called again, telling Juliet that John would come to the kids' graduation on July 10, 2021.

These communications raise questions about Kangogo's intentions and her relationship with John Ogweno.
