Published on July 10, 2021, the Ministry of Health reported 536 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total confirmed positive cases to 188,513.
The positivity rate stands at 8.9%, with 518 of the new cases being Kenyans and 18 foreigners. The breakdown by gender shows that 274 are male and 262 are female.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe noted that the cumulative tests conducted by MOH is 2,012,698, as of Saturday, July 10.
Of the 536 new infections, 336 patients have recovered from the disease, with 236 of the patients being from various health facilities countrywide. Additionally, 100 of the recoveries were from the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program.
MOH placed total recoveries at 178,119, with 141,98 recoveries coming from Home-based care while 36,161 are from health facilities across the country.
Sadly, 3 patients succumbed to the disease, pushing total fatalities to 3,721.
As of the latest update, 1,092 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 3,982 are at Home Based and Isolation Program.
Another 202 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen, with 184 of them in general wards and 18 in High Dependency Units.
The distribution of cases by county shows that Nairobi had the highest number of cases at 186, followed by Busia with 50 cases.
MOH also reported that 1,538,340 vaccinations have been administered so far.
