On July 10, 2021, Eric Kapaito solidified his position at the top of the Golden Boot charts after scoring in Kariobangi Sharks' 3-0 victory over Posta Rangers at the Ruaraka Complex.
With his 19th goal of the season, Kapaito is now just one shy of his target of 20 goals this season, leaving Elvis Rupia, his closest challenger, with 14 goals.
Meanwhile, Mathare United's relegation fears grew as they suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz in Nakuru. The slum boys had come from two goals down to lead 2-1 in the second half, but ultimately couldn't hold on to the lead.
Ulinzi Stars lost their third consecutive match after losing 2-0 to Nairobi City Stars in an early kick-off.
Sharks dominated the match against Posta Rangers, with midfielder Patillah Omotto scoring a brace, including the second goal just before halftime. Kapaito completed his brace late in added time, securing a healthy victory for Sharks.
In Nakuru, Mathare United's John Mwangi scored a brace within seven minutes, but the team ultimately conceded two goals in the final two minutes of the game, handing Homeboyz the win.
Nairobi City Stars rose to sixth in the standings with their third win in five games, thanks to goals from Nicholas Kipkurui and Bolton Omwenga in the first 10 minutes of the match.
