On July 9, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta kicked off his tour of Ukambani region in Makueni, where he inspected the construction of the 688 million cubic meters Thwake Dam, part of his government's Big 4 agenda.
During the tour, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and other local leaders were in attendance, but the photo of the event sparked controversy, with Kalonzo Musyoka sitting third after Governors Alfred Mutua and Charity Ngilu, while Odinga sat next to President Kenyatta.
Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has come to Kalonzo's defense, saying that no leader has ever been disrespected in their home area like Kalonzo Musyoka.
"My BELOVED JUBILEE sees Hon Musyoka as Baba's running mate (4th time) No leader has EVER been disrespected in his backyard like Hon Musyoka…but again no self-respecting leader will accept this kind of MATHA!" Ahmednasir tweeted.
