On July 10, 2021, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) launched a loan program to support local businesses in Tana River County.

Under the initiative, the Chamber has disbursed Sh10 million to 250 traders in the region, providing them with an interest-free revolving fund.

KNCCI Tana River branch Chairman Hassan Barisa emphasized the importance of responsible borrowing and timely loan repayment, urging traders to use the funds for their intended purposes.

Barisa also encouraged county residents who have not joined the Chamber to do so in large numbers, in order to benefit from similar loan opportunities in the future.
