Located in Konza Technology City, East Africa's biggest data centre is set to be completed in two months, boasting a capacity of 1.6 petabytes.
As the second phase of the centre nears completion, it is already fully equipped with smart city facilities and services to support the technopolis, developers, and small enterprises.
According to Lucas Omollo, ICT Manager at the Konza Data Centre, the facility will make work easier for many people by providing high computing power and faster Internet and streaming services.
Omollo explained that the centre was set up after intensive research showed a high demand for such infrastructure in the country, making it the first cloud infrastructure in the region.
With the centre hosting 10 companies, it is expected to boost investments in smart infrastructure, including parking and transport.
