566 Test Positive for Corona Virus in Kenya

Kenya has recorded 566 new cases of Corona virus, with a positivity rate of 10.6%, according to the Ministry of Health.

As of July 8, 2021, the Ministry reported that 546 of the new cases were Kenyans, while 20 were foreigners.

So far, 1,934 patients have recovered from the virus, with 1,693 of them coming from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 241 from various health facilities.

Unfortunately, 11 patients have succumbed to the disease, with one of the deaths occurring in the last 24 hours and the remaining 10 being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in March, April, June, and July 2021.

“The latest numbers push the cumulative fatalities to 3,716. Our sincere condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones,” the Ministry of Health said.

There are currently 1,136 patients admitted in various health facilities across the country, with 4,825 patients under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

As of today, a total of 1,524,555 vaccines had been administered across the country, with 1,024,244 first doses and 500,311 second doses.
