On July 7, 2021, a brazen theft was captured on CCTV footage at Epic Wines and Spirits in Kitale town.
According to the video, three women worked together to steal expensive whisky, with one of them stuffing a box of whisky between her legs under her long dress and casually walking out of the shop.
Two other women were seen in the footage, working in tandem to pull off a similar heist, with one of them obstructing the view to give her accomplice time to steal a bottle of whisky.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with one Twitter user, @CisNyakundi, leaving a scathing comment, saying, 'Uhuru should just leave office. He can’t make his career legacy from impoverishing the masses whilst promoting a few inflated projects which benefit a few tenderprenuers linked to his family.'
The CCTV footage has been widely shared on social media, with many calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
