On July 8, 2021, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka found himself at the center of a high-profile paternity dispute. A woman, identified as INM, had sued him for allegedly impregnating and abandoning her.

According to court documents, the woman had been in an intimate relationship with Lusaka since 2018. She claimed that they had unprotected sex on April 1, 2021, at Lusaka's Nairobi home, resulting in her pregnancy.

The woman's lawyer, Danstan Omari, argued that the two had a consensual intimate affair punctuated with several instances of unprotected carnal knowledge since 2018. However, Lusaka's lawyer, Peter Wanyama, disputed this claim, stating that the real issue was the woman's demands for a lump sum payment of Sh25 million or a house.

Wanyama maintained that Lusaka had agreed to provide the woman with support during her pregnancy, including accommodation and prenatal care. However, the woman insisted on being paid the Sh25 million within a week.

Justice Anthony Mrima gave Lusaka and the woman 21 days to settle the matter out of court and report the progress on July 28, 2021.
