Published on July 8, 2021, Marya Prude took to Instagram to address the criticism she received for her post-breakup parties.

She posted, “How someone would want me to feel bad about enjoying my own life is something I do not understand. My friend, if you don’t like your life, do something about it and let others enjoy their own,”

Prude's response came after she was accused of partying too much following her breakup with Raburu in 2020. The couple's daughter, Adana, passed away in January 2020, and Prude later deactivated her social media profiles before reactivating them and changing her bio to reflect her new surname.

Prude's Instagram posts showed her attending parties in Nairobi, Nakuru, and other locations, sparking criticism from some Kenyans. However, the Amapiano Sundays crew, which has been hosting the parties, has been a popular event in Kenya since the music genre started trending.

Prude's response to the criticism has been met with support from some of her fans, who have praised her for standing up for herself and enjoying her life.
