July 7, 2021, marked a heartbreak season for many Kenyans, including Citizen TV reporter Stephen Letoo. The news of his breakup with baby mama Winnie Nadupoi came as a shock to many.
However, Letoo has chosen to take the breakup in stride, embracing the African tradition of polygamy. In a Facebook post, he wrote, "Our African tradition allows polygamy. Let us all embrace it."
Letoo and Nadupoi welcomed their son, Santino L'eyian L'etoo, in 2019. The baby's birth was celebrated by the couple, with Letoo taking to Instagram to express his joy. He wrote, "Babies are like little suns that, in a magical way, bring warmth, happiness and light into our lives…A baby is God’s opinion that life should go on..They are the bridge to heaven..God dropped us Baby Santino L'eyian L'etoo as a special gift, I give him to the world, as a sign of Peace @winnienadupoi."
Despite the breakup, Letoo has chosen to focus on co-parenting with Nadupoi. In an interview, he stated, "We parted ways amicably early this year. We are co-parenting and I take good care of my son and he is happy."
Letoo's post on polygamy has sparked a lot of debate on social media, with many Kenyans weighing in on the topic. While some have praised Letoo for embracing his culture, others have criticized him for his views on polygamy.
