Denmark vs England: Why the Underdogs Might Just Pull Off the Upset ¶
Published on July 7, 2021
England's history of reaching a state of euphoria before winning anything makes an upset in the Denmark-England semi-final clash a high-probable. While the tournament has an unkind history for England, they are the clear favorites in the current one.
Denmark, however, has been the most spirited and determined team so far, even more so than Austria and Switzerland. They've been scoring from improbable, brilliant long-range shots, while England has had mostly perfunctory tap-ins.
England has barely scraped through the group stages, but they picked up on the knock-out stages coming into the quarter-final tie with an inspiring 4-0 thumping over Ukraine. Though England is the side yet to concede at Euro 2020 – and with Harry Kane in form – Denmark is a personal favorite.
Denmark has managed to regain focus after the Christian Eriksen's debacle, defeats to Finland and Begium. It's a resilient side that has won their last three matches (European Championship) and has scored at least two goals in their last three matches (European Championship).
England, on the other hand, has seen under 2.5 goals in their last three matches against Denmark in all competitions. A plus for them, however, is that the Three Lions enjoy full backing from their fans – as entry into the stadium has been allowed.
According to Betika.com, a head-to-head win is fairly predictive, but players have a chance to capitalize on it: England Win 1.78, a Denmark Win at 5.50. A probable draw has a 3.60 on the odds. The other pickle in Betika's pie is the Bingwa Bonus Boost, a special reward scheme for gamers on Betika.com that generates a bonus – on the winnings – that sees a player's winnings doubled, or tripled.
