With the COVID-19 pandemic having left an indelible mark on the way we live and work, HR leaders must now focus on employee wellbeing to create a better and more successful workplace.

As the world recovers from the pandemic, it is essential for HR leaders to prioritize employee wellbeing, which will be a permanent change in the future of work.

Research has shown that wellness programs can influence performance through preventive care, education, and training on the importance of employee wellness, as well as through supportive management.

According to a 2019 Brighter Monday Kenya white paper, flexible working hours are a key motivator for employees, with 63% of respondents citing it as a factor that motivates them to accomplish their tasks at work.

Other key motivators include the introduction of health programs, regular breaks from the desk, and regular fun activities.

As HR leaders look to the future, they must prioritize employee wellbeing, which includes understanding what drives and motivates employees.

Some of the key HR trends for 2021 include redesigning the employee journey, re-educating the workforce, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

With the pandemic having accelerated several trends in the HR space, HR leaders must now focus on creating a better and more successful workplace.

Increased focus on compliance, hybridization of the workplace and workforce, and robust performance and delivery tracking are also key trends for 2021.
