July 7, 2021, marked another day of insecurity in Kenya as a video surfaced showing a thief on a boda boda stealing valuables from an unsuspecting person.
The victim in this case was a police officer, fully dressed in their blue uniform, who was directing traffic at the Roysambu roundabout in Nairobi.
As the officer was engaged in conversation on his phone, a boda boda with two pillion passengers drove past him from behind.
The passenger at the back then casually grabbed the officer's phone as the motorbike rode along and joined the traffic.
The officer was left stunned, with a million questions racing through his mind.
It is alarming that petty thieves have become so brazen that they are now stealing from the people mandated to hunt them down.
