Police in Nakuru are searching for a police constable, Caroline Kangogo, who is suspected in the murder of a police officer, John Ogweno, at Kasarani Police Lines. The investigation has taken a new twist after it emerged that Kangogo is also wanted for the murder of another man in Kiambu County.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kangogo was last seen walking into a room at Hotel Dedamax in Kimbo, Kiambu County, where the body of a man identified as Peter Ndwiga was found lifeless. The DCI boss, George Kinoti, said in a statement that Kangogo had lured a man to the hotel room, paid for it, and then turned against him, ending his life.
Police searched Ndwiga's pockets and found a wallet with his identity card and car keys. The body was moved to General Kago mortuary awaiting postmortem. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether Ndwiga was the man who had gone to Kangogo's home in Nakuru on Sunday.
Police in Nakuru said that they did not hear any gunshots when Ogweno was killed, similar to an argument by attendants at Dedamax hotel in Juja who said they never heard the gunshots. The Kenya Police have described Kangogo as 'lethal, armed and dangerous.'
