On Tuesday, DJ Moz shared his personal experience with family planning, revealing that he and his wife had opted for a vasectomy after their previous contraceptive method began affecting her health.
According to DJ Moz, the decision to undergo a vasectomy was made after numerous discussions with his wife, who had been using the pill for an extended period. He stated that the pill was not good for her and was affecting her health.
"I'm married and I have been for 13 years. The reality is that, the burden of family planning had always been on my wife. Na pia mimi nilikuwa ule msee wa CD haibambi (To be truthful I also didn't enjoy using a condom), not that there is anything wrong with using a condom for contraception," DJ Moz said.
He added that his wife had been on the pill for a long time, and it was affecting her health. The couple had agreed that it was time to stop using the pill and had considered other options, including vasectomy.
"So vasectomy became an option," DJ Moz narrated.
When asked if he had undergone the vasectomy himself, DJ Moz replied in the affirmative, stating that he was functioning normally after the surgery.
"Mimi nimewai! (I've gotten the surgery) And I'm functioning as normal. Let me say this, I'm glad that at home my wife and I were talking about it and let me encourage all married men out there to have this conversation with their wives," he said.
Meanwhile, actor and radio presenter Nick Ndenda had also sparked a conversation on Twitter about vasectomies, stating that he had undergone the procedure for personal reasons, not for his partner.
"One final thing on this matter, I did not get a vasectomy for her. I did that for me because I also do not want kids. Any other questions, not up for debate or discussion," the post read.
