Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore passed away on July 1, 2019, after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Collymore had been undergoing treatment for the condition since October 2017, when he traveled to the UK for treatment, and returned to Kenya in July 2018 to resume his duties.
His condition worsened about two weeks ago, and he passed away at his home in Nairobi on July 1, 2019.
According to a statement from Safaricom, Collymore's death occurred at his home in the morning of July 1, 2019.
He will be laid to rest on July 2, 2019, just a day after his death.
Collymore's burial details, including the time and place, have not been made public.
