Siaya County residents are set to receive a boost in medical services, thanks to a donation of medical equipment from the diaspora community.
According to Governor Cornel Rasanga, the equipment will arrive in the county soon, following his recent trip to the United States.
During an interview at a local radio station, the governor revealed that he had held meetings with individuals from Siaya living in the US, who had pledged to send the equipment to the county hospital.
"I held meetings with some people from Siaya now living in the US and they have promised to send some equipment for the hospital," Mr Rasanga said.
He also urged those living in the diaspora to invest in their home counties, saying that he had asked them to bring investment projects that could change the lives of the people.
Mr Rasanga's return to the county after a two-month absence has sparked renewed interest in his activities, following his reported absence during the commissioning of major projects by President Uhuru Kenyatta two months ago.
