On July 1, 2021, the revised Finance Act came into effect, increasing Excise Duty from 15 per cent to 20 per cent. This change has led to a price revision by Telkom Kenya.

According to Telkom's chief executive officer, Mugo Kibati, the company remains committed to delivering best value to its customers despite the additional taxes.

As of July 6, 2021, Telkom's revised prices include a Pay-As-You-Go Telkom-to-Telkom Voice rate of Sh. 2.78, a Pay-As-You-Go Voice rate for off-net calls of Sh. 4.30, an SMS rate of Sh.1.15 within the Telkom network and across other networks, and a Pay-As-You-Go Mobile Data rate of Sh. 4.50 per megabyte.
