Nigeria Kidnapping: 27 Victims Rescued in Kaduna State

On July 5, 2021, a group of unidentified gunmen stormed the Bethel Baptist High School in Damishi town, Chikun local government area, in Nigeria's northwestern state of Kaduna.

According to Mohammed Jalige, a police spokesperson in Kaduna, the gunmen overpowered the school's security guards and abducted an unspecified number of students, taking them to the forest.

A joint team of the Nigeria police, army, and navy successfully rescued 26 students and a female teacher safely while in pursuit of the attackers.

The rescue operation is still ongoing to ensure that all victims are safely returned, with strategic measures in place to prevent further occurrences of such dastardly acts of criminality against innocent children.
