KeNHA Cautions Motorists as Langata Flyover Construction Begins ¶
On July 6, 2021, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued an advisory to motorists plying Langata road to be cautious when driving at T-Mall along Lang'ata Road since the construction of a Ksh3 billion bridge construction has commenced.
The project, which is aimed at ending traffic jams at the busy Langata Road junction, was conceptualized under the Public-Private Partnership between the Government of Kenya and the Spanish Government.
KeNHA has asked motorists to exercise caution around the area and to comply with the traffic management plan, signalization, and instructions given by the traffic marshals.
The flyover is expected to facilitate motorists headed to Rongai and Magadi to cross the road at the Shell petrol station that is adjacent to the Wilson Airport.
Vehicles headed to South C, Mbagathi Road, and Wilson Airport will pass via the underpass bringing sanity to traffic flow around that area.
The construction of the project is expected to take 36 months (3 Years) and construction will happen in seven phases, to ensure minimal traffic interruptions.
Construction is being implemented under the EPC/Turnkey Contract framework and it was signed between KeNHA and the Contractor, Mls CENTURION Española de Coordinacion Tecnica Y Financiera, S.A of Spain.
