On 6th May 2021, Odibets, through its 'Odimtaani' initiative, paid Ezekiel Otuoma's medical bill of Ksh1.5 million in Germany to facilitate his treatment for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The betting firm also covered transport costs to Germany, amounting to Ksh300,000, and provided Ksh200,000 to support Ezekiel's wife's business.

Speaking to journalists, Odibets Country marketing manager Aggrey Sayi said the company aimed to offer a message of hope to Ezekiel, who once graced Kenyan football grounds.

“Today we have visited Ezekiel to bring a message of hope to him and support him by paying his medical bill,” said Aggrey Sayi.

For Ezekiel's wife, Racheal, Odibets' help came at a crucial time, as she narrated: “This is something we didn’t see coming, we have been praying and asking God to come through for us. I can’t say much but thank Odibets for all they have done for us,” said Rachael.

Odibets' 'Odimtaani' initiative has previously supported other individuals in need, including Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi and his family, who were involved in a road accident.
