On July 6, 2021, Brazil secured a spot in the Copa America final after a 1-0 win over Peru at the Nilton Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Lucas Paqueta scored the only goal of the match, set up by Neymar, to send Brazil to the final. The Selecao will face either Argentina or Colombia in the final, which will be held at Rio de Janeiro's iconic Maracana stadium on Saturday.

Neymar expressed his preference for Argentina, stating, 'I want Argentina. I'm supporting Argentina because I have friends there and Brazil will win the final.'

Peru's goalkeeper Pedro Gallese was the busiest player on the pitch, making several crucial saves to keep his team in the game. However, Brazil's dominance eventually paid off, and they secured a spot in the final.

Peru's coach Ricardo Gareca attributed their slow start to the game, saying, 'We paid for being slow to settle into the game. The team reacted well in the second half, and it was even.'
