July 1, 2019, marked a somber day in Kenya as news of the passing of Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore spread like wildfire.
Collymore, a renowned business leader, had been battling leukemia for a while, and his untimely demise has left many in the country in shock and mourning.
According to Jeff Koinange, who had the privilege of interviewing Collymore just before his passing, a group of close friends had known that Collymore's time was running out.
As Koinange revealed in a social media post, Collymore's friends had been aware of his condition and had even been told by doctors not to make long-term plans, with July being the furthest Collymore was expected to live.
Despite the dire prognosis, Collymore continued to inspire and motivate many, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for a long time.
Jeff Koinange took to social media to pay his respects to Collymore, saying,
GO WELL, MY BROTHER AND MY FRIEND! REST WITH THE ANGELS! YOU RAN A GOOD RACE…AND YOU MADE A CHANGE! #RIPBOBCOLLYMORE.
