On Monday afternoon, the prime suspect in the Quivers Lounge shooting turned himself in to DCI officers, accompanied by Criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta.
Earlier that morning, Kasarani Sub-County police boss Peter Mwanzo had announced that police were in pursuit of Dickson Mararo, who was suspected of shooting three individuals at the joint on July 5, 2021.
The victims, Festus Musyoka, Lawrence Muturi, and Felistas Nzisa, were shot during a violent incident that was captured on CCTV footage and shared on social media.
According to a detective involved in the investigation, eyewitnesses who witnessed the suspect fleeing the scene had captured the registration number of the car he left in.
"He is needed for questioning on what had taken place at the joint. If he was not the one who was driving the car, he should give us the person who was with the vehicle on that day," the detective said.
Both Musyoka and Nzisa were rushed to Neema Uhai Hospital for treatment before being referred to Nairobi Hospital, while Muturi checked himself at Radiant Hospital and was later discharged.
Police had initially reported that the officers had shot each other over a woman, but investigations revealed that the three had been attacked.
