July 5, 2021, marked a turning point for Musyoka Wambua and Aron Asiba, residents of Nairobi's Mukuru kwa Njenga slum, when they landed a lucrative endorsement deal with Jahazi Flour Mills courtesy of comedian and radio presenter Jalang'o.
The duo's rise to fame began with a video taken eleven years ago, which featured Musyoka giving a media interview in the slums, complaining about illegal power connections. Aron, who was listening in, responded with the now-famous phrase 'Nitakufinya! Nitakufinya!'
During an appearance on Jalang'o's Bonga na Jalas show on YouTube, the two men shared their struggles, with Musyoka expressing his desire to leave his life as a water vendor behind and start a bodaboda business. Aron, on the other hand, runs a barbershop and a salon in the same slum.
