Published on July 1, 2019, Kenya's Harambee Stars are set to face Tanzania in the first round of the 2020 Africa Nations Championships Qualifiers.

The change in opponents comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) included Djibouti and tournament hosts Ethiopia in the qualification phase, replacing Burundi as Kenya's initial opponent.

According to the re-done draw, Harambee Stars will travel to Tanzania for the first leg, set to be played between July 26 and July 28, with the second leg scheduled for Nairobi between August 2 and August 4, 2019.

The aggregate winner of the two-legged qualifier will then face off with either Ethiopia or Djibouti in the second and final qualifying round, with the date to be announced in due course.

The final tournament, reserved for players actively featuring in their respective national championships, is scheduled for January 2020 in Ethiopia.

Kenya's re-match against Tanzania comes after the Harambee Stars secured a 3-2 victory in their Africa Cup of Nations Group C match against Tanzania on June 27, 2019, at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Coach Sébastien Migné expressed confidence in the team's ability to face Tanzania, saying, 'We know it will be difficult playing against the number one country in Africa (FIFA Rankings). But it was difficult as well when we came up against Ghana during qualification and we won. We can do it.'
