On July 5, 2021, a disturbing incident occurred in Nairobi, leaving a freelance photographer shaken and robbed of his equipment.
Timothy Ndungu, a well-known photographer, was targeted by two women who posed as clients for his photography business.
The women had booked Ndungu for a photoshoot at an Airbnb along TRM Drive in Kasarani, Nairobi. However, upon arrival at the Boon apartment, Ndungu was offered coffee, which he later claimed made him feel drowsy and eventually black out.
When he regained consciousness, his equipment worth Sh 300,000 was gone. The camera had been borrowed from a friend, a fellow photographer.
Ndungu alleges that the women, who had presented themselves as clients, had drugged him, leading to the theft of his equipment.
