Kenya's Commissioner General at the Expo, Dr. Marube, has confirmed that the country's preparations for the World Expo Dubai 2020 are in full swing. The Road to Dubai is already on, with exhibition spaces booked and a comprehensive program presented to Expo organizers.
A multi-agency committee, comprising representatives from both public and private institutions, is working tirelessly to ensure a successful participation. The committee includes State Department for Trade, KEPROBA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya Investment Authority, Kenya Tourism Board, and several other key stakeholders.
During the International Participants Meeting (IPM) in Dubai from 4th to 6th May 2021, Kenya shared its line-up of activities for the entire 6 months of the expo. The presentation highlighted the country's planned activities, including the KENYA WEEK, which will run from 14th February 2022 to 18th February 2022.
Kenya Week activities will feature a range of events, including Valentines Day on ground activations, Kenya's Counties and Economic Regional Blocs Day, Kenya National Day of Honour, and a business forum. Additionally, 18 Kenyan start-ups have signed up for the 'Scale to Dubai' Initiative, a global entrepreneurship program that offers start-ups and small businesses an opportunity to scale to Dubai.
Kenya's participation at the World Expo Dubai 2020 is expected to be a significant milestone in the country's trade and investment relations with the UAE and the GCC region. The expo's theme 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future' aligns with Kenya's theme 'Feel the Energy', which is expected to showcase the country's vibrant culture and business opportunities.
Kenyan exhibitors still have a chance to showcase their products in the additional spaces secured for them and can register at https://kenyaexpo2020.co.ke.
