On July 2, 2021, a dramatic confrontation unfolded at the Molo police station in Nakuru, Kenya, involving Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Ann Kanori and officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). The incident began with a graft complaint filed against OCS Kanori by a civilian, prompting EACC officers to apprehend her.
According to police documents, four EACC officers were attacked by OCS Kanori and her team, with their personal belongings, including phones and valuables, going missing. The EACC officers were later locked up in police cells for 30 minutes.
Following the incident, OCS Kanori was taken to the Railways police station in Nakuru town at 11:30pm on Friday, July 2, after a 2-hour inquiry at the Central Rift EACC offices. Four other officers from the Molo police station, implicated in the attack, are being held at the Central Police Station.
