July 5, 2021 - In a move aimed at simplifying importation processes, Kenyan-based courier and on-demand delivery company TMX Mzigo has launched a service that enables customers to make large quantity orders online from different parts of the world.
The service, which allows customers to list their products for sale on the TMX Duka, sees TMX Mzigo clearing the products, storing them, and selling them through its website, thereby leaving the customer with no hassle on importation processes.
According to Anthony Njoroge, CEO of TMX Global, the company continues to envision a transformative approach to better its services. This includes the upcoming launch of a cryptocurrency, TMX Gold Coin, which importers and exporters can use to buy or pay for their goods anywhere in the world.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic, people are increasingly turning to online shopping as a means of minimizing physical interactions. TMX Mzigo has come in to fill this gap by ensuring that customers receive their products and feel like they are doing the shopping themselves.
The company's App allows customers to track their parcels in real-time, with the courier taking a photo of the product and uploading it to the App. When the courier starts moving, the customer can track the rider and how he is moving.
Recent data from Mastercard reveals that nearly four out of five (79%) surveyed consumers in Kenya are shopping more online since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data, apparel, healthcare, banking, and other FMCG have seen the highest surge of online activity, with 92% of consumers in Kenya paying for data top-ups online, 67% for clothing, and over 56% buying computers and other equipment.
