On July 3, 2021, Mwangi wa Iria's Usawa Kwa Wote party's roadshow truck caught fire in Maragua constituency while on a mission to drum up support for membership registration.
The truck, which was on transit and in the caravan from Maragua town, had only the DJ and the MC who were wooing people for membership registration.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the fire was put off before it could consume the whole truck by the party crew as well as the residents who rushed to the scene with water and managed to put off the fire.
According to party staff, the truck was then taken to the garage for repair as it will continue with its mission tomorrow.
Party officials remained tight-lipped on the matter, with top officials unreachable for comment.
Just a day prior, Governor Mwangi wa Iria had begun the registration process at Mukuyu market, where he asked residents to join the party to have a united Mt Kenya region.
Wa Iria had stated, "We need to form a strong party and table our presidential candidate," as he gave out heifers to some of the lucky people after registering as members.
