On Sunday, 4th July, Kenya's Ministry of Health announced 277 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country's caseload to 185,868.
The new cases were detected from 3,796 samples tested, bringing the cumulative tests to 1,981,951. The country's positivity rate stands at 7.3 per cent.
According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, 272 of the new cases are Kenyans, while five are foreigners. The youngest case is a 10-month-old baby, and the oldest is 95 years old.
The national death toll rose to 3,675 after four more patients succumbed to the virus.
Of the new cases, 669 patients have recovered from the disease, with 588 being from the home-based and isolation care programme, and 81 from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 127,625.
There are currently 1,126 patients admitted to various health facilities, while 5,834 patients are under the home-based isolation and care programme.
Some 115 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 34 on ventilatory support, 50 on supplemental oxygen, and 31 patients under observation.
Additionally, 166 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen, with 151 in general wards and 15 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
The distribution of cases in counties includes Nairobi with 64 cases, Mombasa with 31, and Nandi with 27.
As of today, a total of 1,473,869 vaccines have been administered across the country, with 1,017,485 first doses and 456,384 second doses.
