On June 30, 2021, a disturbing incident occurred at Oldonyiro Secondary School in Isiolo County, where a teacher, Pius Mugambi, was allegedly attacked by a group of students.

According to a P3 form filed by Mugambi, he was attacked by a gang of five students. However, a school statement revealed that Mugambi had informed them that he was attacked by a group of two students.

Further investigation by the police revealed that Mugambi's claims were contradictory. He initially stated that he was attacked at around 8:50 pm after leaving the police canteen, where he had bought a packet of milk. However, the police found that he arrived at the canteen at 9:00 pm, bought alcohol, and was attacked two and a half hours later.

Additionally, Mugambi claimed to have travelled to Isiolo town during the night, but the school statement showed that he travelled the following morning after the attack.

The police are still investigating the incident and have not yet recorded a comprehensive statement from Mugambi to ascertain the facts of the incident.

Reports of students attacking teachers have become a growing concern in the country, with learners taking to extreme measures to take action against their tutors.
